2 weeks in…

Jax at home
Comfy baby loves being home!

Welcome to our new blog! We’re glad you decided to continue following Jaxson’s journey. You can get notifications when we post new updates…all you have to do is sign up at the right side of your screen.

Jax weighs 7lbs 10oz today! Wow – the little chunker is growing like it’s in style. Apparently, no one told him that he is a micro-preemie and should have difficulty gaining weight!

He’s been home for two weeks now. We’re loving every minute of it. And not a second goes by that I am not in complete awe of how well he’s doing. I’m not sure what we ever did to deserve a baby like him…he’s strong and sweet and simply amazing! We are so lucky. I really can’t say that enough. You’re probably sick of hearing it!

The next couple of weeks are going to be a whirlwind. We have seven different doctor’s appointments! Pediatrician, home nurse, early intervention (for developmental things), lungs, urology, Synergis shot to help prevent RSV, and an eye exam. Yikes! Good thing I’m getting better at lugging him around with his oxygen tank! We also have a temporary handicapped parking sign, so that helps alot. I’m sure I will appreciate that even more when there is a foot of snow on the ground…

So far, we’ve received good news at our doctor’s appointment. At the last eye exam, the doc called him a “super hero!” Prayer point for today: we continue to get good news! We like having a super hero for a son…

Oh man, what an adventure! I went into labor unexpectedly when I was 23w3d pregnant. Jaxson was born weighing 1 lb 8 oz. A tiny little peanut, but boy was he feisty. He still is! We love it now, but we probably won't when he is a teenager. I write about our journey and all other things that come with it, including a brain tumor. We look forward to "meeting" you - come hang out with us...we're pretty cool.
