Jax’s TV Debut

We all know that Jax is cute, but now the entire metro area knows! Jax had his TV debut last night on Channel 5 KSTP. The story wasn’t specifically about Jaxson, but he definitely stole the show! He’s a natural…like his mama! 😉

Some of you may remember when, last year, the city of Prior Lake wanted to bulldoze our house and 34 other properties in our neighborhood to build a bypass road. Somehow, I became one of the “voices” of a grassroots awareness campaign that convinced City Hall to reconsider destroying historic homes in the name of economic development.

But – now another proposal is on the table. I don’t know if it’s the right choice for our town or not, but in any case, Channel 5 decided to do a follow-up interview with us to see what we thought about the plan.

We’ll get an “official” weight check this afternoon at the doctor’s. On Friday, he weighed in at a whopping 9lbs 5ozs. How much do you think he weighs today?

Oh man, what an adventure! I went into labor unexpectedly when I was 23w3d pregnant. Jaxson was born weighing 1 lb 8 oz. A tiny little peanut, but boy was he feisty. He still is! We love it now, but we probably won't when he is a teenager. I write about our journey and all other things that come with it, including a brain tumor. I work for the County in the Transportation Dept. and when I saw this proposal and had to do some work on cost estimates just for buying the property to make the bypass I couldn’t help but think what a terrible idea and waste of tax dollars for a minimum of benefit, or possibly no benefit to the community. I was happy to hear that the neighborhood there fought so hard against it. Way to go!
