That’s What Jax Has To Say About That

Happy Monday! Here’s a little something to get your week started off on the right foot…

Jax has his follow-up eye exam last Thursday. Doc says his eyes look GREAT! We don’t have to go back for another month! And here’s the really good news: if all looks good at that appointment, Jax will “graduate” from the ROP specialty care to a regular pediatric ophthalmologist!

Here’s what Jax has to say about that…

Jax’s eyes will be carefully monitored by an ophthalmologist his whole life. The Avastin injections and the laser eye surgery do have some possible side effects which could cause weakened eye muscles, lazy eye, twitching eye, or vision loss. Better to catch all of these things right away! So far, Jax is not showing any symptoms. I guess we will just wait and “see” (ha ha…) what the future brings.

Oh man, what an adventure! I went into labor unexpectedly when I was 23w3d pregnant. Jaxson was born weighing 1 lb 8 oz. A tiny little peanut, but boy was he feisty. He still is! We love it now, but we probably won't when he is a teenager. I write about our journey and all other things that come with it, including a brain tumor. We look forward to "meeting" you - come hang out with us...we're pretty cool.

  1. From a little peanut to a happy, alert singing little boy, Jax you amaze us all. I watched your first “video” many times and love it more everytime I replay it. Maybe by July you will be able to add some guitar music–the sky’s the limit.
