Meet Jax a funny, kind, and smart preschooler who was a micro-preemie born at 23 weeks. Now that Jax is older, the scariness of the NICU has faded, but we're still learning how to manage the lasting effects of prematurity including chronic medical issues, ADHD, and Autism Spectrum Disorder. This is our story of love, hope, and survival.
There Was Green Grass…
This is what we woke up to today. Yes – that is almost 6 inches of snow on April 11.
It’s not pretty anymore…
And we also woke up to this.
Are you answering the phone, buddy? No, mom. That’s a damn ear infection.
Our poor little guy has his first ear infection and cold! We knew we were pushing it letting him actually hang out with his cousins and play, but we thought it would be fun! And it was! Until now…he’s miserable. And makes a good dinosaur impression. And he’s not really his happy, smiley self. So.
Oh man, what an adventure! I went into labor unexpectedly when I was 23w3d pregnant. Jaxson was born weighing 1 lb 8 oz. A tiny little peanut, but boy was he feisty. He still is! We love it now, but we probably won't when he is a teenager. I write about our journey and all other things that come with it, including a brain tumor. We look forward to "meeting" you - come hang out with us...we're pretty cool.

Ear infections SUCK! So unfair! Hang in there Buddy!!!
I agree the snow part sucks!! Another snow day here, the kids are so mad they have to make up another one 😦 Sure stinks on the ear infection. The hard part is social interaction is good for both of you. Don’t get discouraged, this to shall pass. Hopefully he bounces right back, just like our spring will!! Sprinkling some pixie dust and hope right now 🙂
