Just Another Friday Update

Happy Friday, everyone! I hope you have fun plans for the weekend…

Jax had a follow-up eye exam for his ROP yesterday.  Great news – we don’t have to go back for 6 weeks! This is the longest we’ve gone without an eye exam. The doctor is very pleased with his progress – the good blood vessels are growing well and the “wonky” vessels are not – and that is exactly what we want to hear! And thankfully, we pulled into our driveway just before we got another 8 inches of snow! (Yes, you heard that right – we got another 8 inches of snow on April 18. I don’t have very many nice things to say about that…)

Jax is feeling much better today. The nebulizer treatments are really working – he sounds so much better! Good timing, too, because he’s going to his first wedding this weekend! This is a pretty big deal: first wedding, first road trip, and first hotel stay all in one weekend. We’ll see how he does. I suspect he’ll have a blast because there will be all kinds of people for him to look at and flirt with.

We splurged and got a room with a hot tub. That way if we do have to spend a lot of time in our room it won’t be a total bust.

This will be short and sweet today. I’m off to pack for our first over-night adventure. The pile is growing and it won’t stop. I’m realizing very quickly that kids require a lot of crap… 🙂

Oh man, what an adventure! I went into labor unexpectedly when I was 23w3d pregnant. Jaxson was born weighing 1 lb 8 oz. A tiny little peanut, but boy was he feisty. He still is! We love it now, but we probably won't when he is a teenager. I write about our journey and all other things that come with it, including a brain tumor.
