Meet Jax a funny, kind, and smart preschooler who was a micro-preemie born at 23 weeks. Now that Jax is older, the scariness of the NICU has faded, but we're still learning how to manage the lasting effects of prematurity including chronic medical issues, ADHD, and Autism Spectrum Disorder. This is our story of love, hope, and survival.
Beep, Beep Mommy! Outta My Way! (Jax Stands)
Big news this week, guys! Jax is pulling himself up to standing! He’s doing it very consistently and he’s getting stronger everyday. Hooray for our little buddy! He’s been working so hard on this during physical therapy – and his hard work is really paying off. He must get his dance moves from his mama…check it out!
He tried so hard to get up on that “motorcycle” that we gave him a hand. He was pretty pleased…
Oh man, what an adventure! I went into labor unexpectedly when I was 23w3d pregnant. Jaxson was born weighing 1 lb 8 oz. A tiny little peanut, but boy was he feisty. He still is! We love it now, but we probably won't when he is a teenager. I write about our journey and all other things that come with it, including a brain tumor. We look forward to "meeting" you - come hang out with us...we're pretty cool.

Hi there….my former micro preemie (Jack) sounds like he’s got the same personality as your Jax. Feisty, fiery, nonstop! At 5, he runs circles around us (sometimes literally!) As I often tell people, it’s easy to see why those who survive do so…they have the fire to see them through. Enjoy every minute with your miracle!
Hi – it’s nice to “meet” you! 🙂 Jack and Jax definitely have the fighting spirit. While he was in the hospital, I would say “we like it now, but we probably won’t when he’s a toddler and a teenager.” Yeah – that was true! 🙂 He definitely keeps us on our toes and I wouldn’t have it any other way. Give Jack a big high five from us, ok?
