We’ve entered Jax into Hand to Hold’s Fourth Annual Preemie Power Photo and Essay Contest! It’s an honor for us to share how Jax has overcome so much in his short life. He’s stronger than any one I know. He really is my superhero!

All of the kids who entered have amazing stories to tell – if you have time, please take a minute to read about other kids who have beaten the odds and are doing way more than just surviving.

Voting begins today!  You may vote once every 24 hours, so bookmark the link and vote as often as you can. Voting ends November 1, 2013 at 12 noon Central Time.

The top three kids who receive the most votes in each age category will advance to the finalist round where five NICU professionals will have the difficult task of choosing winners for each of five age categories and the overall winner. Oh man, what an adventure! I went into labor unexpectedly when I was 23w3d pregnant. Jaxson was born weighing 1 lb 8 oz. A tiny little peanut, but boy was he feisty. He still is! We love it now, but we probably won't when he is a teenager. I write about our journey and all other things that come with it, including a brain tumor.
