We took a little family vacation last weekend to the North Shore of Lake Superior! The fall colors were at their peak and we needed a little break after the week we had. I’ll give more details later, but for now…pictures!
Meet Jax a funny, kind, and smart preschooler who was a micro-preemie born at 23 weeks. Now that Jax is older, the scariness of the NICU has faded, but we're still learning how to manage the lasting effects of prematurity including chronic medical issues, ADHD, and Autism Spectrum Disorder. This is our story of love, hope, and survival.
Don’t you feel so lucky that we live somewhere that we can drive a couple of hours and be surrounded by all that gorgeous scenery? The North Shore is so good for the soul. 🙂

It’s amazing! I kept saying “I can’t believe we’re still in Minnesota!!” The crashing waves reminded me of the ocean. Gorgeous.

If you like the wave crashing sounds (and who doesn’t?!) I highly recommend camping at Lamb’s Resort. It’s very affordable (and they have real bathrooms!) and they have campsites that are a few feet away from the rocky shoreline. You can lay in your tent and pretend you’re right by the ocean.

We stayed very close to Lamb’s! We stayed a Temperance Landing – which was a HUGE treat thanks to Steve’s mom. Our whole family went and it was amazing! We were steps away from the water. *ahhhhh*
