Happy Friday

Hey gang – sorry we have been a tad quite these days. It’s been a busy couple of weeks. Jax had croup, which was very worrisome considering his Chronic Lung Disease. He did fairly well responding to his medicine and now, after two weeks of serious illness, he’s finally on the upswing.

He’s also a major rager because of the steroids. We have been spending a ton of time outside and running around as much as his little lungs can handle to try and burn off some of the excess energy. We have also been using his weighted vest to help calm him down. The vest works, but it’s time to add a bit more weight to give him even more calming sensory input. I’ve been toying with the idea of getting a weighted blanket to use at night because he’s still waking up at least once (and usually 2 – 4 times) most nights and that’s taking it’s toll on all of us. I wonder if the blanket would have the same calming effect as the vest? It’s worth a shot.

Also, this is crazy – the blog hit 100,000 views this week. Thanks, guys, that’s pretty awesome!

Oh man, what an adventure! I went into labor unexpectedly when I was 23w3d pregnant. Jaxson was born weighing 1 lb 8 oz. A tiny little peanut, but boy was he feisty. He still is! We love it now, but we probably won't when he is a teenager. I write about our journey and all other things that come with it, including a brain tumor.
