The Big Yellow School Bus

Best.Day.Ever! Jax got a new bus driver for school, and she showed up in a big yellow SCHOOL BUS!

Jax was so excited, he wasn’t sure what to do. This was a far cry from his previous grumpy driver and his minivan. He lugged his heavy backpack all the way down the driveway and stared. Was he getting ON this thing?!

You guys remember the issues we had with the previous driver, right? Last week, he didn’t show up to bring Jax to school. I was worried – had he had an accident? Was he sick? Nope – he just overslept. That was three strikes in my book. I was willing to give him another chance, but apparently the transportation department was tired of me calling and emailing (lol – they better get used to it!), so they switched Jax to a different route.

I can already tell the new driver is going to be much better. The driver was cheerful and welcoming. She helped Jax up the stairs and helped us get him buckled into the seat.

There is one other boy on the bus with Jax, but they didn’t see each other because the seats are very high. Hopefully we will be able to introduce them to each other on Monday.

I gave Jax a hug and said “Have a great day at school!”

And he said “Bye Mom. Get outta here! I’m riding on the SCHOOL BUS!” *sigh* My big kid…

Oh man, what an adventure! I went into labor unexpectedly when I was 23w3d pregnant. Jaxson was born weighing 1 lb 8 oz. A tiny little peanut, but boy was he feisty. He still is! We love it now, but we probably won't when he is a teenager. I write about our journey and all other things that come with it, including a brain tumor. We look forward to "meeting" you - come hang out with us...we're pretty cool.
