Hip, Hip, Home!

Jax is awesome. Seriously. (Ok, so I might be a little biased, but still…) We are HOME!

He was able to sleep without oxygen support for 7 hours in a row, so he got discharged yesterday.

When we got home, he ran into the garden, took a deep breath and closed his eyes to the breeze. “It’s so nice out here, isn’t it, Mommy?!” We were both feeling the drag of being cooped up inside for so long.

He’s doing pretty well so far. He’s still sick and we’re still in the Red Zone of his Asthma Action Plan,  but his sats are acceptable.

We decided to keep him home from school until his surgery and MRIs on April 13. We just can’t risk him catching something else right now. After surgery, he’ll be home for 2 more weeks because he will have a catheter. Poor buddy is really going to miss his friends! (And mom is going to miss getting anything done.)

Today is a rest day for everyone. We’re snuggled up on the couch eating popcorn and watching movies. It’s so good to be home!

Oh man, what an adventure! I went into labor unexpectedly when I was 23w3d pregnant. Jaxson was born weighing 1 lb 8 oz. A tiny little peanut, but boy was he feisty. He still is! We love it now, but we probably won't when he is a teenager. I write about our journey and all other things that come with it, including a brain tumor. We look forward to "meeting" you - come hang out with us...we're pretty cool.

Thanks for hanging out with us! Leave us a comment!
