For the past 10 months, Jax has been working hard at physical therapy learning to roll over, sit, kneel, stand, and finally walk. He had some issues with toe walking and increased tone that his doctors have been monitoring very closely, which is why he continued with physical therapy even after he started walking.
Yesterday, we had a follow-up appointment with his physical medicine and rehabilitation (PM&R) doctor where she checked his walking pattern, tone, and reflexes. She noticed that his reflexes are a little “brisk” which means he still might have some underlying issues which will be on our radar for awhile still. (We will go back for another follow-up in 9 months.) But otherwise, everything looked great – to more toe walking or increased tone! Since his reflexes are not impairing his walking, she had some great news for us:
Jax has officially graduated from physical therapy!

Gang – our tiny warrior did it! I couldn’t be more proud or excited for him. It’s so, so amazing watching him do all these incredible things. Take that, prematurity!
